Four ways to be useful

Money helps. So does a season of your time, a research department, or a door we cannot open ourselves. Pick whichever fits.

  • Volunteer

We take a small number of volunteers each season. Agronomists, data people, translators and photographers are the most useful. You will be on a plot, not behind a desk.

    • Minimum commitment is one training cycle
    • Kinyarwanda is a help, not a requirement
    • We cover local transport, not flights
  • Partner with us

Universities, NGOs, cooperatives and district offices. We are especially looking for a soil science department and for partners working on market access.

    • Joint research, published independently
    • Co-written funding applications
    • Student placements on field teams
  • Careers

We hire slowly and locally. Most of our field roles go to people who first came through a training cohort in their own sector.

    • No open positions right now
    • Speculative applications are welcome
    • Send a short note and what you have done
