Evidence, so we can say what worked and what did not.
We work with Rwandan universities to measure what we do. Yields, soil, adoption, income. When something does not work we say so and change it, and the data goes back to the farmers who produced it.
Plenty of agricultural advice reaches Rwandan farmers. Much less of it has been tested on Rwandan soil, in the season and on the slope where it will be used. That gap is what our research work is for.
Yield per plot, soil cover, labour hours, input cost and whether the practice was still in use one season later. Adoption a year on is the number that matters most, and it is the one most projects never collect.
The Catholic University of Rwanda is our first formal research partner. We are open to others, particularly on soil science, agricultural economics and extension.
