Health insurance premiums covered for genocide survivor households that had fallen behind, restoring access to care for the families that needed it most.
Mutuelle de Santé is the reason a clinic visit in rural Rwanda costs a few hundred francs instead of a month of income. It only works if the annual premium is paid, and for older households living alone that payment is often the thing that slips.
We worked in Ngamba Sector, Kamonyi District, covering premiums directly for genocide survivor households that had fallen behind.
194 individuals in 2024, 134 in 2025 and 90 in 2026.
